Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 202 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world.
Beginning in 1917, the association of Lions clubs has provided millions of people with the opportunity to give something back to their communities.
Glanford and Lindsey Lions serve the North Lincolnshire local communities of Kirton Lindsey, Messingham, Scotter, Redbourne, Hibaldstow.
The Glanford and Lindsey Lions was formed in 1991 to raise money for a variety of projects important to their local communities and to support Lions’ national and international charitable causes. Membership is open to men and women who are able to devote some of their spare time to provide service to their community and meet other club objectives. It is not hard work and we ensure that “fun” is a major part of fund raising.
We even have a social committee to ensure we have a good time together. Social events include dinner parties, sports events, theatre trips, barbeques, concerts etc.

Jaimie Marshall (2nd from right) and Zoe Brown (left) join Glanford & Lindsey Lions at our last club meeting. It’s great to have some “young blood” entering Lions. We wish them both well in the future.

Lion Denis ably assisted by daughter Jacqueline “smoked out” the 200 scouts and guides from their tents to enjoy a feast of burgers, soup and finest Lincolnshire sausage at the end of the GOFA weekend.
Thanks to all Lions who attended and assisted and to the sponsors who donated the food.

Past President David Graves had the pleasure of handing over a cheque for £1,000 to Dr John of the Scunthorpe Hospital Cardiac Care Unit and then another £1,000 to the Stepping Stones rehabilitation unit.

The Broughton Coffee Morning organised by Sue Carter and ably assisted by husband Dave was a great success.
People were queuing well before the doors opened and sales on all stalls was brisk. Raffle tickets sold well and many thanks to those who generously donated prizes.
Thanks go to Lions Sue and David for the organisation, the other Lions who attended and helped on stalls, the ladies of the centre for their wonderful teas, coffees and biscuits and to all those who attended as visitors who made it such a success.

Lion Bob was extremely efficient at keeping us stall keepers replenished with tea but I did think the use of a french maid’s outfit would have added authenticity to his work.
The event was held to raise funds for the Sheffield Childrens Hospital and raised a total of £223.80
Well done Lions Sue and Dave!!
