Once more the team from Spalding Lions travelled north to face the wrath of Glanford & Lindsey on the bowling green at Gainsthorpe.

A motley bunch they were at first glance and we were eager to get them on the green and show our expertise with woods!

To cut a long story short …… we was whooped badly! Can’t remember the final scores but it was embarrassing to say the least. My team consisting of myself, Nancy and Kelly suffered the largest defeat, but in our defence I would stress that the opposing team of Denis, Sue and Ken were all “ringers” !

Joking apart, it was a really enjoyable afternoon with plenty of good natured banter, although Kelly was showing frustration that Denis wouldn’t “throw” the last end to allow us to get into double figures.

Spalding were presented with the trophy at tea and even managed to win all but one of the raffle prizes!!

Many thanks to them for making the journey and we will be back next year to Spalding to retrieve the trophy.
